Hans Theys

Hans Theys ist Philosoph und Kunsthistoriker des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er schrieb und gestaltete fünzig Bücher über zeitgenössische Kunst und veröffentlichte zahlreiche Aufsätze, Interviews und Rezensionen in Büchern, Katalogen und Zeitschriften.

Diese Plattform wurde von Evi Bert (M HKA : Centrum Kunstarchieven Vlaanderen) in Zusammenarbeit mit der Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerpen (Forschungsgruppe ArchiVolt), M HKA, Antwerpen und Koen Van der Auwera entwickelt. We see the artist Danny Devos creating 'Erd Ecke' and we see his sculpture 'Black Dahlia' in motion. Theys had seen this sculpture in the eighties and wanted to see it again 20 years later.
From February 25th till December 31st 2007 Hans Theys organised the continuously growing exhibition 'The Moss Gathering Tumbleweed Experience'. It started with works by five artists and ended with works by 105 artists. It took place at three venues at the same time (Nicc Antwerp, Lokaal 01 Breda, Galeria Klerkx Milaan). The first artist to be invited was Danny Devos, who created 'Erd Ecke' by gradually filling a corner of the exhibition space with sand generated by his ongoing performance "Diggin' for Gordon'.
