Things are subtle here
About Victoria Parvanova’s work
Two things I would like to mention, before speaking about Victoria Parvanova’s art.
First, we must acknowledge that the laws of natural evolution – this ruthless but wonderful slot machine blindly but surely leading to more economy, more efficiency and more beauty – clearly teach us why women have always been smaller and frailer than men: because they didn’t have to be bigger and stronger to survive. (Because they are smarter, that is.)
Second, this explains why men feel the constant need to make grotesque jokes and laugh loudly.
Things are subtle here. Close examination is required. And then – in colours, brushstrokes, texture and subject matter – we discover the nearly invisible humour and an intelligence of the finest nature.
